An Adventure with the Amazon Echo

Regular Session

Amazon Echo is a hands-free speaker you control with your voice. Echo connects to the Alexa Voice Service to play music, provide information, news, sports scores, weather, and more—instantly. All you have to do is ask.

Attendees will be walked through the process of creating and configuring an Amazon Echo Skill using the Amazon’s Developer Portal, followed by creating a C# Web API that will receive and response to request from the newly created application. Non C# Developers can also benefit as the course is more centered around configuring the skill and understanding the request and response objects.

Topics covered include the Amazon Developers Portal for Alexa, Configuring Intents and Utterances, use of custom Slots, and configuring a C# Web API to receive and response to Requests.

Prerequisites

Understanding of Web API Requests and Responses.

Familiarity with C# is recommended but not required. The course is centered around configuring the Amazon Skills Wizard, receiving and responding to requests using Json objects.
