We are ecstatic to announce that Sara Chipps will be keynoting at Code PaLOUsa 2017. Sara is an awesome JavaScript developer and an awesome all around person. She has taken her passion for software development to the masses having worked with the Flatiron School and co-founding Girl Develop It and more recently Jewelbots.

A stated goal of Code PaLOUsa is to have content meaningful for everyone on a software development team. That means we aim to have content throughout the conference for not just developers but also project managers, business analysts, testers, and so on. This always gets interesting when it comes to getting speakers for our two keynote sessions, where we have all of the Code PaLOUsa audience together. With that in mind, having both Sara Chipps and Jay Harris as keynote speakers will provide great insight into software development regardless of what role you have in the software development lifecycle.

While Sara is still working on the details of her presentation, we talked to her about going through how Jewelbots was conceived, market researched, developed (both hardware and software), and then released to the public. This presentation will provide great insight to others in the out industry on how a successful product with social importance was developed.

When you combine Sara Chipps’ keynote with the previously announced Jay Harris keynote and all of the awesome speakers coming in for workshops and breakout sessions, Code PaLOUsa 2017 will be THE place to learn more about your profession and become experts in what you do (and maybe even gain some insight into what other roles on your team do). So have you registered for Code PaLOUsa 2017 yet? If not, register now. Go to for more details about this year’s event.
